Hello!
My name is Emma, and I am a Classically-trained pianist, accompanist, and private piano instructor. I hold an M.M. in Piano Performance and currently offer private piano lessons based out of my studio in Edmond, Oklahoma. I have been teaching piano since 2008 and have experience in both private and group settings. I also enjoy accompanying and have worked with area schools at the primary, secondary, and college level on concerts, contests, musicals, juries, etc. I am a member of MTNA, OMTA, COMTA, and the Royal Conservatory's Music Development Program. DA CAPO (THE BEGINNING)
My journey in piano began at home with my sister. We enjoyed exploring the sounds of the Baldwin in our living room, and before we knew it, one of us was old enough to enroll in lessons while the other was…not. As the typical "younger sibling," I took the disappointment in stride by deciding that I, too, could surely learn to play the piano if I "played" along with my big sister as she practiced. Naturally, this annoyed her greatly, but she eventually told me that if I wanted to play piano, I was going to have to learn how to do it right. She became my first teacher, and I got my lessons after all. I began formal study at age four, and since then, I've earned a B.M.A. in Piano from The University of Oklahoma, an M.M. in Piano Performance from Oklahoma City University, and have become a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music.
